Internet of Things (IoT)

Any task that is performed by people on a regular basis is an ideal candidate for a connected product. Connectivity in this age is not an option, it is a necessity.

“Everything that can be automated will be automated.”

Robert Cannon

With millions of every day devices connecting to the internet, IoT is the next big thing. Things as simple as a fan and light also generate data for example, the usage patterns. With connectivity, systems can interact with each other to create a truly customized experience. A human presence detector can sense human presence in the room and can turn on/off air conditioning according to the weather. A connected water heater can be turned on automatically by your phone’s alarm. The technology can send information to the connected water heater that the earliest alarm in the family is at 4 a.m. so the water heating will start at 3:30 a.m. When the system detects that there is no one at home, it will turn off the water heater. When the connected system detects that any family member is within a certain distance from the home, it will turn on the heater. This not only creates a customized user experience but also saves energy. Connected health care products can measure your blood sugar, blood pressure, heartbeat and temperature and can send the data to your doctor so he knows when you need a visit and change in medicine.
